JAIN INSTITUTE OF MOVEMENT DISORDERS & STEREOTACTIC NEUROSURGERY
We are one of the few such institutes in India which are dedicated for this work and has the entire infrastructure (Hardware & Software) required to perform these complex set of surgeries and treatments. We also have the best Neuro Rehabilitation team to help such patients achieve their best possible functional potential.
Our mantra: NEUROMODULATION with NEUROREHABILITATION
The focus is hence on the QoL — Quality of Life & Productivity.
FROM THE YOUNG TO THE OLD — WE TREAT THEM ALL!!!
A center of excellence for NEURO-MODULATION
- Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery (MIN)
- Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (SFNS)
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
- Treatment for Dystonia
- Treatment for Tremors
- Treatment for PD (Parkinson’s Disease)
- Treatment for Spasticity & Epilepsy
What is Neuromodulation?
Movement Disorder Treatment
There are two types:
1.HypoKinetic – Slowness of moment & Rigidity. Ex: Parkinson’s Disease
2.Hyperkinetic – Disorders with excessive moments or spontaneous. Ex: Dystonia, Chorea, Athetosis
- Tremors-dominant Parkinson’s Disease
- Essential Tremors
- Post MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Tremor
- Post-Stroke Tremor
- Post-Head Injury Tremor
- Dystonic Tremor
DYSTONIA
Dystonia is a movement disorder in which a person’s muscles contract uncontrollably. The contraction causes the affected body part to twist involuntarily in repetitive movements or abnormal postures. Dystonia can affect one muscle, a group of muscle or entire body
Parkinson’s Disease (PD)
progression of the disease, combined with prolonged Levodopa use can result in some disabling motor symptoms.
Two types of Parkinson’s Disease:
- Tremor predominant
- Rigidity-bradykinesia predominant
